The team arrived at The Black Bull Inn in November 2006 having run The Farmers Arms in Lancaster (Hotel, public house, sports bar, function rooms and full a la carte restaurant ) for over 17 years, so they have a great deal of experience in the hospitality and catering industry.

This certainly shows in the Black Bull's quality of food and service.

Tony

The landlord and also a chef with 20 years experience.Working along side Tony in the kitchen is Graham,a very experienced and knowledgable chef, and together they maintain a high standard and consistancy of cooking.

Tony prides himself on the wide ranging menu (click on dining above for more details) of homecooked foods that are available. If it is not on the menu, ask and if he can he'll make it for you.

Tony is like Chablis, dry but very palatable.

Lynne

Tony's wife and landlady of The Bull, Lynne is the brains and organiser of the business; forever looking for new and improved ideas to keep the customer happy. The superb inside and outside appearance is certainly down to her.You may not always see Lynne but she is always there in the background you can be sure of that.

Lynne is like Moet, bubbly and cheeky with a pleasant longlasting aftertaste.

Mandy

The general manager and up front person whose friendly manner and happy smile greets all and ensures the atmosphere is jovial and amicable at all times. Her father was a pub landlord and she was born in a pub so "say no more".

Mandy is like Rosé wine, young, effervescent and very refreshing.

The Team

The team of barstaff, waiter & waitresses and kitchen staff have been with Tony and Lynne for over seven years on average and some up to twelve years so they know the high standards required to ensure the number one is always the customer. We have also taken on local staff since arriving so the team is a good mixture of old and new whose main aim is to ensure the best of products, served at the highest standards at a reasonable price.

The team is like a mixed box of wines, all with their own good palatability but each with their own unique flavour.

"....to protect and to serve, well - the latter (possibly)...."
