Firstly, a huge thank-you to all those who joined us for our 4th July celebrations, the Charity Football Tournament and Charity Dinner.

Also, a reminder that copies of the Black Bull Boys Calendar are still available over the bar and at local shops.

The calendar features 22 well known male faces (and other parts of the anatomy), aged between 30 and 80 posing in and around the pub and in the cellar. All the money raised will be donated to St John's Hospice and other local causes.

Friday 7th November - An Evening with Jim Bowen For those that didn't know, long before fame and fortune drew him away, Jim was a teacher here in Brookhouse and St Paul's Church Hall his old classroom. The Black Bull Fund Raising Committee are proud to return him there, though just for the evening, to give us "The Inside Story".

Proceedings commence at 7.30pm with signed copies of Jim's autobiography also available on the night.

Tickets are £10 from here at the Black Bull. Profits will be split between St. John's Hospice and local organisations

Tuesdays - Quiz Night including the 'Find The Joker' raffle. This extremely popular evening is your standard general knowledge quiz with a twist - the numbered answers are in a 'bingo format' with prizes for 'lines' and 'corners' as well as the highest score so every team, regardless of size, has an opportunity. £1.00/person for the quiz and £1.00/ticket for the raffle (quiz participants only). 'Eyes down' at 21:00 but be warned, this event is extremely popular so be sure to grab a seat early to avoid disappointment.

Black Bull Boys - 'Spot the Bum' Yes, the Boys have returned - this time in a photo quiz form. The title should be self explanatory (and it could have been worse - think about it!). Quiz sheets are available at the bar and, as with all the Boys' stuff, all proceeds go the Black Bull Charity Fund.
